We are excited to offer this opportunity for a supportive, knowledgeable, and apprentice focused Mechanical Engineering Development Coach to join our client’s team

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Play a vital role in shaping the next generation of engineering talent
  • Working directly with apprentices who are already employed in mechanical engineering roles, you will guide, support and challenge them as they work towards their Apprenticeship Standard
  • Help learners develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed
  • Work closely with employers, industry specialists and internal teams to deliver high quality training
  • Blending structured teaching, skills coaching and workplace visits, you will ensure that each apprentice receives a tailored learning journey
  • Help apprentices link theory to hands on application, supporting them to grow in confidence and capability

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong mechanical engineering experience (minimum two years)
  • Experience training, coaching, or mentoring others
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Teaching, assessing, or IQA qualification
  • Higher‑level or industry‑specific engineering qualification
  • Understanding of apprenticeships, safeguarding, and Prevent
  • Experienced in mechanical engineering and able to translate real world practice into effective learning
  • A confident communicator who can build strong relationships with apprentices and employers
  • Organised and reliable, able to manage a caseload, plan visits, and maintain accurate records
  • Supportive and learner focused, committed to helping apprentices progress and achieve
  • Detail driven and compliant, ensuring training plans and assessments meet apprenticeship standards
  • Committed to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry expectations
